Patti Schaar

Connector | Strategist | Change Catalyst | eGeneration Foundation Leadership

Patti Schaar has never stopped looking up. From a childhood dream of becoming an astronaut to a career spent helping organizations launch bold new directions, her life has been defined by a passion for progress—measured not just in metrics, but in meaning.

Today, Patti serves as a strategic force behind the eGeneration Foundation, where she is responsible for forging powerful connections between the foundation and forward-thinking industries. Her mission is to raise awareness and forge alliances around clean, economical, and environmentally responsible energy solutions, including advanced nuclear technology and innovative infrastructure. A true believer in the transformational power of people, Patti helps organizations turn abstract visions into grounded, executable strategy.

Before arriving at eGeneration, Patti built a reputation as a leader in transformation, change management, and capability building. Her ability to translate complexity into clarity—especially across technical and non-technical audiences—makes her indispensable to teams tackling some of the world’s toughest challenges. Whether she's walking the factory floor, facilitating a boardroom workshop, or helping a civic organization craft its mission, Patti moves seamlessly between engineering precision and human empathy.

Her journey began in the halls of the University of Dayton, where she earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Aerospace. Her early career took her to Owens Corning and NAC International, supporting nuclear fuel management and engineering before answering a higher call in the wake of 9/11. She went on to serve the U.S. Departments of State and Energy on critical nuclear non-proliferation missions around the globe—initiatives that shaped her resolve to help secure the future through smart, sustainable energy policy.

Driven to expand her impact, Patti earned her MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, where she was elected Class President and immersed herself in leadership strategy and systems thinking. It was there that she first discovered her strength in marrying the precision of engineering with the nuance of human behavior. She was a founding member of McKinsey & Company’s Capability for Performance Practice, designing and delivering training programs for teams across the globe.

In 2016, she launched Blüshift Strategy, her own consultancy inspired by the astronomical concept of celestial objects moving closer through a shift toward blue light. For Patti, the metaphor reflects her approach: helping clients escape inertia, align on purpose, and accelerate toward their true trajectory.

She has consulted for clients in sectors as diverse as automotive, healthcare, industrial, nonprofit, and technology—always returning to one central theme: people are the engine of transformation. She guides her clients toward emotional intelligence, operational clarity, and sustainable growth.

At eGeneration, Patti champions a new energy future—one where nuclear technology can be both clean and compelling, and where partnerships can lift Ohio and beyond toward economic and environmental resilience. She thrives in bringing unlikely allies together and making the case for a bold, actionable vision rooted in engineering and ethics.

A Cleveland resident with a well-worn passport, Patti still dreams of the stars, though these days her universe is grounded in Cleveland’s energy corridors, global policy think tanks, and the team huddles of mission-driven organizations. She’s a die-hard Cleveland Indians fan, a proud astronaut doll collector, and a mentor to rising leaders across sectors.

With her eye on the horizon and her feet planted firmly in the world of business and policy, Patti Schaar reminds us that the sky is not the limit—it’s just the beginning.
