LEADERSHIP TEAM

Richard “Dick” Stein – Senior State and Federal Governmental Liaison, eGeneration Foundation

Richard “Dick” Stein brings a distinguished legacy of public service, private sector leadership, and legislative expertise to his role as Senior State and Federal Governmental Liaison for the eGeneration Foundation. A former member of the Ohio House of Representatives, Representative Stein served the people of Ohio with integrity, pragmatism, and a steadfast commitment to advancing the state’s energy, infrastructure, and economic policies.

Elected to the Ohio House in 2016, Rep. Stein represented the 54th District (formerly the 57th), which includes Huron County and parts of Lorain County. During his tenure, he was a respected voice on critical committees, including Public Utilities, Energy and Natural Resources, and Economic Development. He became a leading advocate for forward-thinking energy policy—one that balances reliability, affordability, environmental responsibility, and national security. His work laid the groundwork for innovative policy frameworks, including those that support the future of advanced nuclear technologies in Ohio.

Before entering public office, Stein was a successful small business owner in Norwalk, Ohio, running Stein Photography Studio for over three decades. His background as a business owner gave him a strong understanding of the regulatory burdens, fiscal challenges, and entrepreneurial spirit that drive Ohio’s economic engine. This real-world experience made him a practical and solution-oriented legislator, respected by colleagues on both sides of the aisle.

At eGeneration, Rep. Stein draws on his unique blend of legislative acumen, energy policy leadership, and grassroots economic insight to advise on regulatory strategy, state and federal engagement, and coalition-building. He plays a key role in liaising with lawmakers, agencies, and private industry to promote the development and deployment of advanced nuclear energy and co-located technologies like plasma gasification.

Stein has long understood that the energy future must be driven by innovation—not ideology. His deep relationships in both Columbus and Washington, D.C., combined with his commitment to policy grounded in science, technology, and economic sense, make him an indispensable asset to the eGeneration mission.

Richard Stein lives in Norwalk with his wife of many years, resides near his children and grandchildren, and continues to be active in community affairs. He is a respected figure across Ohio for his civility, insight, and tireless service to the Buckeye State.
